Before you go any further, this is how I would have liked to seen something happen from the past. It won't last very long but I plan on finishing it.
On March, 23 2001, the World Wrestling Federation bought out its long-time rival, World Championship Wrestling. The last episode of WCW Monday Nitro aired on March 26, 2001, dubbed the "Night of Champions". Nitro started with WWF Owner Vince McMahon announcing a simulcast with WWF Raw is War later that night to address the future of WCW...
Vince McMahon stated that the future of WCW was that WCW is dead and buried and you will never again hear from them. Raw is War ended with Vince McMahon remaining in the ring happy.
Now, fast forward to the next week's Raw is War where the main event was supposed to be the WWF Champion, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin taking on The Undertaker in a championship match with Vince McMahon as the special guest referee, however the match never began as Steve Austin was jumped in his locker room by three very familiar faces from WCW, those being Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Scott Steiner. The three put a beating on Austin and quickly leave.
Vince McMahon would then make a challenge for the three to show up in the arena to take on the WWF superstars led by The Undertaker. The WWF were in the ring led by Undertaker and Vince McMahon with Kane, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, The Big Show, Edge, and Christian along side them.
Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Scott Steiner came out from the crowd and were taunted by the WWF superstars. Just as it looked like the WCW guys were going to leave, Goldberg, Booker T, and Diamond Dallas Page came from the crowd behind the WWF and caught them off guard. The other three then jumped into the ring and a big brawl ensued between WCW and the WWF. When it looked like the WWF had the upper hand, the lights went out and Sting dropped from the rafters with his trademark baseball bat and started striking the WWF superstars until all of them were down. The WCW guys left the WWF stars down in the ring and then Eric Bischoff came from behind Vince McMahon and knocked him to the ground.
Bischoff got on the microphone and said WCW is not dead and he will prove it to McMahon with a challenge. Bischoff said he wants McMahon to find his best WWF "superstars" to face his best WCW guys and then we will see just who is going to die.
The following day WWF.com announced that a new pay per view entitled "Invasion" would take place between the WCW and WWF with every match being a WWF vs. WCW match....
stay tuned for the next part...
